A repeatable system,
not one-off wins.

01

Research & Positioning

I start with audience psychology and competitor gap analysis. Every channel has one winning position. My job is to find it before we publish anything.

→ Outcome: Channel positioning that wins before a single video ships
02

Content System

Three strategic buckets. Evergreen content for compounding growth, why-based content for curiosity loops, and trending content for spikes. Balanced intentionally.

→ Outcome: Predictable monthly growth, not lottery hits
03

Script & Hook Engineering

Every script is built around a hook that earns the first 30 seconds, a structure that retains viewers, and a payoff that drives action.

→ Outcome: Higher retention, more watch time, more reach from the algorithm
04

Audience-to-Revenue Monetization

Views don't pay rent. I build content systems that turn audiences into customers through mentorships, services, and lead-generation funnels that convert.

→ Outcome: A YouTube channel that pays for itself, then funds the next 3 hires
05

Team & Systems

I don't just create. I build teams and document workflows so channels grow without dependency on a single person.

→ Outcome: A channel that survives me, scales with budget, and runs without daily firefighting

From South Asia's #1 channel to NYC, ready to ship.

I started NeatRoots in 2020 with no audience, no team, and no idea what I was doing. I'm the on-camera creator, the strategist, and the operator. Five years later, NeatRoots is among the largest independent Android App Development tutorial channels in the world and the #1 mentorship in South Asia for Android App Dev. One video alone crossed 1.8M views, and the business has generated over $300K in revenue from 3,500+ paying customers.

Along the way I co-founded Cyber Guard with Anil Yadav (Certified Ethical Hacker, 24+ certifications), grew it from zero to 71K+ subscribers, and consulted on a pre-launch YouTube channel for an Amazon software engineer. I host the FAANG Engineers podcast on NeatRoots, where I interview engineers from Microsoft and Amazon.

In 2025, after my home region was affected by the India-Pakistan conflict, I relocated to New York on a green card. I'm already delivering for US clients (most recently a $10K MVP for a US-based startup founder under NDA) with my Android development team back in Pakistan, Faizan (Android) and Sarmesh (Flutter and Android), who I personally hired and trained. Now looking to bring the same playbook (research-driven content, on-camera presence, team building, and audience-to-revenue monetization) to a US company that takes YouTube seriously.

Audience psychology is universal. The systems travel.

A US recruiter looking at this profile has a fair question: I built channels in Hindi for South Asian audiences, will my strategies actually work for an American audience? Here is the honest answer.

Universal systems
YouTube algorithms are global. Curiosity hooks, retention mechanics, packaging, color psychology, and competitor research are not specific to a region. The platform rewards the same behaviors everywhere. What changes is the cultural reference, not the system.
Already delivered to US clients
I have already shipped a $10K MVP for a US-based startup founder under NDA. I work in English with US clients across time zones, on US business expectations. That bridge has already been built.
A serious student of US YouTube
I study US channels obsessively, from MrBeast and Jimmy Donaldson's packaging discipline to Colin and Samir's interview format to the production cadence of large SaaS YouTube channels. I bring the same research-first approach I used to dominate my niche in South Asia.
Operator, not just a creator
My value to a US company is not just hooks and thumbnails. It is the operational layer above that: hiring teams (I currently lead Faizan and Sarmesh, two Android and Flutter developers I trained from junior level), building sales playbooks, shipping projects on time, scaling without me being the bottleneck. That layer is country-agnostic.

A concrete plan from day one.

Most candidates promise impact. Here is exactly what I will do in my first 90 days, before I have even said yes to the offer. Adapted to your specific channel and goals.

Days 1 – 30

Audit and discovery

  • Full channel audit: titles, thumbnails, retention curves, monetization gaps
  • Competitive research on the top 10 channels in your space
  • Stakeholder interviews to map company goals to YouTube outcomes
  • Audience deep-dive: who is watching, who you are not reaching, why
  • Identify the 3 biggest leverage points for growth
→ Outcome: A clear strategy doc
Days 31 – 60

Strategy and test

  • Ship a positioning document aligned with company goals
  • Build a 12-week content roadmap with revenue tie-ins
  • Hire or onboard creators, editors, or vendors as needed
  • Publish 4 to 6 test videos to establish baseline metrics
  • Set up packaging, retention, and conversion tracking
→ Outcome: Production engine running
Days 61 – 90

Scale and optimize

  • Establish a weekly publishing cadence the team owns
  • Build the sales or conversion funnel tied to the channel
  • Document SOPs so the system runs without me being the bottleneck
  • Deliver the first measurable lift in CTR, retention, or revenue
  • Quarterly review with the leadership team
→ Outcome: First measurable wins

"I co-founded Cyber Guard with Tahir in 2022, and watching him work over the past three years has fundamentally changed how I think about content strategy. He grew our channel from zero to 71K+ subscribers, and one video alone (Top 10 Dangerous Hacking Devices) crossed 1 million views and 49,600 watch hours, generating 24,700 new subscribers from a single upload. What sets Tahir apart is that he doesn't think like a creator. He thinks like an operator. Every thumbnail is researched against competitors. Every title is tested. Every video has a clear strategic role in the broader content system. He built our entire monetization stack from AdSense to course upsells to affiliate revenue. Beyond the strategy, he's the rare leader who genuinely invests in his team. He trained me, our editors, and our sales staff personally, and the systems he built run without him today. Any company that hires Tahir as a YouTube Strategist or Head of Content is not just getting a creator. They're getting a builder of content businesses. I recommend him without hesitation."

"I've collaborated with Tahir Bilal on multiple Android initiatives, and he consistently brings high technical standards to the team. His understanding of Kotlin, Jetpack libraries, and modern architecture patterns allows him to break down complex problems and deliver clean, scalable solutions. He has a strong instinct for identifying edge cases early, which saves the team time and ensures smoother releases. I consider him one of the most dependable Android developers I've worked with."

Answers to the questions recruiters usually ask first.

Saving us both a 30-minute screening call.

When can you start?
I am actively interviewing and ready to discuss start dates that work for your team. Book a 30-min call to talk timing and scope.
Do you need visa sponsorship?
No. I am a US green card holder. No sponsorship, no visa transfers, no immigration paperwork on your end.
What roles are you targeting?
YouTube Strategist, Head of Content, or Head of YouTube. Mid to senior level. Comfortable as individual contributor or as a team lead with a small team underneath me.
What is your salary expectation?
$100K to $130K base, negotiable based on equity, benefits, and the role's scope. Open to discussing performance bonuses tied to channel KPIs.
Remote, hybrid, or in-office?
Remote anywhere in the US is my preference. For on-site or hybrid, I am open only to NYC or Long Island offices. Outside those two locations, remote-first is the only setup that works.
What kind of company is the right fit for you?
A SaaS, tech, fintech, B2C, edtech, or creator-tools company that views YouTube as a serious growth channel, not a side project. Bonus points if the leadership team is willing to commit to a 12-month build.
Do your South Asian audience strategies actually work for US viewers?
YouTube algorithms and audience psychology are universal. Curiosity hooks, retention mechanics, packaging, and competitor research are not region-specific. What changes is the cultural reference, not the system. I have already shipped a $10K MVP for a US startup founder under NDA, so the cross-border delivery is proven.
Will you be on camera if my channel needs it?
Yes. I have hosted 150+ videos personally on-camera, and produced another 600+ videos through a team I built and trained. That's 750+ videos total across NeatRoots and Cyber Guard. Comfortable in English on camera, comfortable interviewing guests, comfortable with long-form and short-form formats.

Working with Tahir on Cyber Guard, we crossed 71K subscribers and our breakout 8-minute video crossed 1M views. He owns the strategic and packaging side end to end. He shows up, executes, and the numbers speak.

I brought Tahir in as YouTube strategist for Coding Pandas. He thinks like an operator who happens to know YouTube, not a creator chasing views. The playbook he documented for hooks, retention, and monetization is the only one I trust for developer education content.

Target compensation
$100K – $130K

Looking for a YouTube hire
who's actually built it?

Whether it's a full-time role or a contract project, I'd love to hear what you're working on. The fastest way to reach me is email or LinkedIn. I respond within 24 hours.

The investment thesis
Hire me at $120K base and you're paying for someone who built a $300K+ business solo, automated it to 4 hrs/week, and converted 3,500+ subscribers into paying customers across 8 countries.

Or hire me on contract at $110–$140/hr for a defined scope. 3-month minimum. Discount for 6+ month engagements.

If I add even 1% of that conversion math to your existing channel, the role pays for itself in the first quarter. If I build the team underneath me, you stop being the bottleneck.

That's the deal. Quantifiable outcomes, not vanity metrics.
